🌅 India Rising
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that someday, somehow, external forces will align, and our lives will finally get better.
We often pin our hopes on external factors such as landing the perfect job,
finding a soulmate, or achieving financial success. We think these
milestones will serve as the catalysts, causing all our stress and discontent to
disappear, leaving us with the peaceful existence we've always sought.
When I meet the right person, then Ill feel complete.
When I achieve financial success, then life will be stress-free.
When I find another job, then Il finally be able to have the lifestyle I want. But that's not how life works.
I've felt the allure of this mindset. Sometimes, we're so drained from life's
obstacles that all we can do is hope fora breakthrough, a moment when
everything falls into place, and our troubles fade away.
When we tie our happiness to external circumstances, we hand over thereins of our lives to something outside of ourselves. We place our well-being in the hands of unpredictable forces, allowing the whims of the external world to dictate the course of our internal state.
This surrender of control doesn't just affect our feelings and emotions – it
influences our actions and decisions. It makes us live in a perpetual state of
anticipation, waiting for something to change.
Don't get me wrong- sometimes, life sucks. It can be confusing, stressful,
difficult, and downright painful.
We do have control. We do have power.
There are moments when external circumstances do seem to conspire
against us, and the journey feels like an uphill battle. In those moments, we
feel so hopeless that the idea of changing our lives or feeling some peace is almost laughable.
However, it's essential to recognize that there's a difference between having
moments of hopelessness and being stuck in a chronic cycle of
hopelessness.
